Annual Melbourne calendar
After an interrupted (to say the least!) two years, I’ve been able to get out there and photograph Melbourne again for another A3 wall calendar.
The story
This year I did things a bit differently. After such a long break, I was keen to get into the city and explore it anew, as if a visitor in my own city for the first time. I did this by spending a full day in Melbourne’s central business district, treading streets and laneways on the lookout for things I had never noticed before. Sometimes it was a building with interesting architecture that I hadn’t seen because it was off the beaten track, or where you simply miss the classic ‘old’ stuff unless you think to look up. Sometimes it was a shop or location I was familiar with, but had never taken the time to stop and really see. A couple I know quite well but suspect many haven’t because they’re out of the way or overshadowed by more Instagrammable attractions nearby.
Below is a list of the photos in the calendar with their locations. Test yourself to see how many you can recognise!
The calendar
Each calendar is printed on beautiful big A3 sheets, one month to a page, wire-bound at the top with a hanger. The calendars have large, easy-to-read numbers and plenty of room on each date to write in your appointments.
This year’s images are a mix of colour and black-and-white. When you see the colour pictures I think you’ll understand why I kept them that way!
Posted calendars are shipped flat in stiff recycled-paper jiffy bags.
Free shipping is also available for delivery to Brunswick or immediately adjacent suburbs (i.e. Carlton, Clifton Hill, Northcote, Coburg, Moonee Ponds). Add the coupon code IMALOCAL at checkout. Locally delivered calendars will be personally dropped off and left in a safe location.
The photos
Below are the images from the 2022 Melbourne Unseen calendar and the background I’ve been able to discover about each location.
